What You Feed Will Lead

Simply put, whatever you feed will lead. Today, choices will be made which will determine whether the Spirit or the Flesh will dominate your thinking, your decisions and ultimately your actions. Choose wisely and enjoy life and peace.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Rm 8:5-6 ESV

Jesus Did Not Come to Condemn

As much as I love John 3:16, I have always been struck by verse 17…

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Jn 3:17 ESV

Jesus did not put on an earth suit and move into the neighborhood to condemn, accuse or hand down a sentence. He came to save the world. Our mission must be one and the same.

Authentic Authority

Matthew 8:28-34

My wife and I were asked to serve on the prayer ministry team at our church. We were honored to do so. One Sunday morning during a particularly powerful worship service, a married couple approached us for prayer. They did not have to announce themselves, but we knew they were influential people.

Real authority never has to be announced, heralded or declared. It just shows up and all know there is someone packing heat in their midst. Real authority does not require drama or theatrics. Jesus walked in authentic authority and never felt compelled to announce his arrival.

He stepped onto the shore and two men who were teeming with demonic activity immediately reacted to his presence. Did these demonic personalities react to Jesus’ disciples? No. To his impressive boat? No. To his amazing fashion sense? No. To the tone and volume of his voice? No.

They were arrested by the authority that Jesus walked in. When you understand your identity in Christ and the authority that resides in you, all of hell will tremble when you wake up in the morning. No need for a show, just show up armed with the word of God and presence of God. They will run from you too.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank you for conferring your authority upon us and giving us Jesus’ example of how to exercise your authority with wisdom an integrity. Thank you for trusting us with your power, strength, ability and favor. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A New Beginning

It’s a new day. A new beginning. A new week. The do-over has commenced. What will you do with this brand spanking new day that God has given you? How will you provide lift and add value to everyone you meet? A smile? A kind word? A life-giving conversation?

You can be a difference maker for someone today. Allow the goodness of Jesus who lives in you to leak out for others to enjoy. #LeakOut #LoveWell #LiftUp

The Gospel with Skin On

What does the Gospel with skin-on look like? It looks like you. Warts. Scars. Bumps. Bruises.

Perfect? No. Being perfected? YES!

The Gospel in action looks like you on the journey. Growing. Developing. Learning from each and every failure, mistake, mishap, bad choice and victory.

God sees the end from the beginning and He sees you as an overcomer, winner, victor!

Wishing You Jesus,

Words of Life

Anything can be pushed to an extreme which renders it absurd. However, don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater. The words we speak are powerful. God created the planet with words. Jesus calmed the storm and raised the dead with words. Kings lopped off heads with a word.

You get the idea. What do the words that spill out of you say about what you believe? They say more than you think. We really do leak out what we are full of. Are your words betraying you? If so, you may need to put a guard on your mouth.

Speak words that build up and bring life. Find the good and the positive in your situation and bring it to light with your words.

God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. Rm 4:17

Rant to a Cheer

Who can you provide lift for today?

Jesus will have assignments for you along the way if you have your radar on… a coworker, a clerk, a client, a boss, an appointment… someone will need to hear good news today.

It may not be earth shattering or spectacular, but each time you encourage someone, you add value to this planet. This world has enough negative voices to last 20 lifetimes.

Perhaps it’s time to change your rant into a cheer.

Be a positive voice that builds up and never tears down. Navigate your daily rhythm with eyes wide open.

You Are a Difference Maker

Just think about it, something you say or do today can make the difference in how another person’s day, season or life will go.

You are a catalyst and a difference maker.

God has uniquely gifted you to bring positive and life-giving change wherever you go. Don’t hold back. Don’t keep encouragement to yourself.

Leak out life and watch how God will use it today.

He Refuses

Grateful this morning for this truth:

Jesus meets you where you are, but he refuses to leave you there.

“Come, follow me.” – Jesus

Breathe Life

In a world of political, territorial and cultural storms, filled with the wind of God’s Spirit, you provide lift for those around you. Breathe life. Speak life. Bring life.
