Trying Too Hard?

Our prayers need not be long and eloquent in order to touch heaven and move mountains. How often have I uttered Peter’s cry and then rested in confidence that God heard and would respond.
Many grow weary in the exercise of endless devotions and long prayer lists when Jesus’ own model prayer consisted of only a few brief direct statements.
Today, don’t try so hard. Be direct, specific and expectant. It worked for Jesus. It worked for Peter. It will work for you.
But when he (Peter) saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Matt 14:30
